On the next “A Box of Chocolates”, I will be playing nothing but Beatles for 3 hours. The show will have excerpts from the Anthology and Love albums and feature alternate cuts from the original records. Some are demos, some are earlier tracks, some are live versions, and some have completely different treatments from the records we came to know so well. These alternate cuts give great insight into the process that went into the making of the songs before the "best" basic tracks were selected, overdubs were added, and they became the masters that were eventually released to the public in the '60s. The first song of the show will be “Love Me Do” with Pete Best on the drums – a classic! On the track that we originally came to know and love, Ringo just played the tambourine and a session drummer named Andy White played drums on the track.
Tune in to 30A Radio (107.1FM – 30aradio.org) this Friday and have fun listening to, and learning about some classic Beatles songs. I will also have my facebook profile page open on the studio computer to answer any other questions not addressed on the air during the show. You can also call the studio during the show at 850-534-0735.
