A sad day for America

New posts
In this situation aleonard, w/added subsidized healthcare, is there any other assistance you think you will need? If not, hey, we've solved the last of our problems and can move on. Lets parrrrty! :D

This was the only thing that I needed help with and could not find a way to do all on my own. In the recent past, after losing coverage after a divorce, I found I could afford the premium or the deductible, not both, and I already live a minimal type of lifestyle by most American standards. After being covered for almost 40 years( my entire life) this is the first time I understood the fear of not being insured. Not because I abuse my health(I don't) but what would happen to me if somebody ran over me while I'm driving down the street. The only way it could be better is if I could sign up today.

It's more out of frustration. I do not understand why people are so frustrated with our current social model. It works, well.

It could be because many of us feel it is a work in progress, to be improved upon so that it may work well for more people.

Whew! I was really worried you were going to say something like "yeah, now government needs to stop global warming." Lets put congress on recess and party!

I think the temp high risk pool should be setup pretty quick, have you been uninsured for 6 months?

The pool will be established within six months and will operate until 2014, when insurance companies can no longer refuse applicants with pre-existing health problems. Annual out-of-pocket medical costs will be capped at $5,950 for individuals and $11,900 for families.

Won't hear that from me. Healthcare and education are the only two places I could be considered as left leaning. I'm a very center of the isle, lets cut the waste and fraud, independent. It's been well over a year since it became final. We actually became one of those couples that articles were written about, separated, living separate lives in distant towns, but not going through with the divorce, so I could be kept on his company coverage for as long as possible. When he moved to a smaller company without coverage, we finalized it.

Just as a side note on my prior coverage. It was BCBS of Alabama. There was only two of us, but whether there were two or four in the family, they all had to pay the same. A married couple, without children, paid 800 per month. The family with four covered paid the same amount:blink:

Jack Welch? Really? How many millions did he make building crappy and obsolete toys for the military? Didn't he land the contract for the high tech border fence that doesn't work before he left GE? I wouldn't laud someone who basically received massive corporate welfare for the last 30 years as someone "in the know".
