Tuck pads never heard of them. But I have tried Depends. My mother in law was having problems, she was stubborn, wouldn't leave the house for months because she had to be near a loo, so I bought the damn Depends, drank a gallon of water, 2 cups of tea, and then soaked the hell out of the Depends. Left them on for another round. :funn: and left it in the bathroom wastebasket for her to see that they really worked. :floor:

Hubby put that one in the Mango pop up book as a classic.

tucks pads are little round cotton pads soaked in witch hazel among other things that are awesome for sore diarrhea butt, or hemorrhoids.....

I'll do that. I love her! She's kinda mean, and she talks terrible to all of us, but you can't help but love her. She also hoards sugar packets, kleenex and sweet n low. Every time the nurse aides make her bed, she pulls all the linens off in the floor...she's a trip!

You sound perfect for your job DD. Not everyone can handle older people and you do it with affection and a kind heart.

Thanks. It's kinda stressful though. Would like it much better if I didn't have to deal with corporate crap, crazy families, crazy doctors, etc. I grew up with my grandparents who both ended up in nursing homes back in the 70's. Swore I'd never set foot in another one.....famous last words. The residents are definitely the highlight of my day.....it's never a dull moment!

My grandfather and aunt were both in nursing homes. I've seen good and bad just like everything else. But I'd want someone I loved to be around people like you. It's nice to be enjoyed and not ignored or mistreated.

I think my kids are putting me on the bus when I get old and confused. Who knows where I'll end up, gotta love an adventure. :D

:floor: :floor: Maybe they'll send you here and we can terrorize the place together!!

I have developed a plan for my wonderful boss when it is time to move to the nursing home. I will tell him that we are "going up the road to get some ice cream, so get in the car". Then I will drop him off at the home. Sucker!

This plan comes into play just about every day that I work. If he turns into what we call "Stress Boy" or is being grumpy or bossy (imagine that- a boss, being bossy, but hey this job is supposed to be fun for ME!!!), I get his attention and very quietly say "Would you like to take a ride and go to the ice cream store?" He immediately backs down! I think he is worried that I have cooked up this plan with his wife.;-)

:clap_1: Sounds like you have him on a short leash jdarg, keep him there.
