I have been an amateur genealogist since 1978. My mother's side of the family were WARDs, BAKERs, NICHOLS, MORRISONs all with Walton Co. ties and easily qualifying as Pioneers. My 3rd great grandfather Starkes BAKER served in the 4th U. S. Infantry Regiment and was with Gen. Andrew Jackson during the 1st Seminole War and was part of his forces in the capture of Pensacola in 1818. Needless to say, I have also become very interested in the history of W. FL.
