I would suggest that from Seaside, head east on the bike trails. I think the traffic might be lighter especially if you have young kids. There are beautiful lagoons you will ride over. If your troop can make it down to Grayton beach, take the boardwalk down to the beach where your family will find the prettiest tide pool, just great for wading and cooling off. I also recommend you make a trip west from Seaside to the community of Seacreast. It is beautiful. And boast the best breakfast at the Wheelhouse. If you want to try Grayton for breakfast...The Hibuscus B & B is fantastic. It will be on your left just after you turn off the bike trail into Grayton.
