All time Low for Campaign lies

I'm pretty certain I know who " @Presumptuous " is. They don't even want me to call them out on their BS or the fact they are focused on a single issue. I'd be willing to bet someone's job is at stake if, I let that hammer drop.

Interesting Editorial in today’s Daily News

EDITORIAL: Disappointed in the actions of incumbents

As we approach Tuesday’s primaries, we understand that from a local perspective this may as well be the general election.

We will elect nearly all of the representatives in Okaloosa, Santa Rosa and Walton counties because of a lack of Democratic mopposition in November’s general election.

We salute the candidates who have put their names on the ballot. Running for public office isn’t easy. It takes a lot of time, money and effort to be a viable candidate, and for these citizens to step up to serve their neighbors is admirable.

But we can’t help but be disappointed in the actions of two incumbent candidates for their respective County Commission seats. Cecilia Jones, Walton District 2, and Rob Williamson, Santa Rosa District 4, each have recently distributed mailers in their respective counties to deceive voters.

Jones’ mailer tells her constituents she has been cleared by the Florida Commission on Ethics, but that is less than true. As Daily News reporter Tom McLaughlin reports, while an assistant state attorney general and advocate for the ethics commission has issued a recommendation that includes the words “no probable cause found,” only the commission can decide if Jones has been cleared. That won’t happen until Sept. 7.

Williamson, on the other hand, misrepresented a conversation he had with apparent-foe and Navarre Press publisher/owner Sandi Kemp.

Williamson made a mailer with a fake text exchange between himself and Kemp, and while the words on the flier were words used by Kemp in an unflattering text message to his county phone, Williamson intentionally misrepresented the context of the conversation.

Williamson framed the conversation to look as though he was being bashed by a media entity for supporting Trump. He also made it to look as though we refused to have a contentious conversation with Kemp on his county phone.

In reality, had Williamson just sent out a flier with Kemp’s actual texts, he would have come off with a stronger argument. Kemp’s words were hateful, and in truth, unprovoked. Williamson didn’t send a text to prompt the message. He also merely responded “Thank you for your prayers.”

But at least Williamson stood by his mailer. In a call and email exchange with the Daily News, he made clear he felt he was being attacked by Kemp. He also repeatedly said he stands behind the contents of the flier. You know what you’re getting if you vote for him. Despite our disappointment in his evasive and untruthful tactics, he isn’t hiding from his actions.

The same can’t be said for Jones. Not only did some shadowy PAC release the flier for her, she didn’t answer multiple calls and emails giving her an opportunity to clear up, stand up for or distance herself from the mailer supporting her campaign.

Is gives us question whether she can be trusted. Voters in her district — like all districts — deserve honest representation, not someone who hides behind a flier.

Reasons to vote.
For Glidewell
Against Gaetz

Or you can toe that party line and not think independently for yourself. :)
