Of course, NOLA is in the list.
We are lucky enough to live in a jewel of a home in Georgia designed by one of New Orleans most famous preservationists and architects, Samuel Wilson, Jr. of Koch & Wilson Architects. Just Google "samuel wilson, jr" and you'll see his list of accomplishments. He died on October 21, 1993. The Times-Picayune devoted an entire page to his obituary. We have had the pleasure of having him in our home many times, being in his home near Commander's Palace many times, and dining with him in his celebrity status in New Orleans many times. I will always love him. New Orleans is not the same without him. He's probably rolling over in his grave after what has happened in NOLA after Katrina.
Sam was so sweet to us. He gave us many priceless pieces of art as a housewarming gifts, including a Currier and Ives of NOLA. Every detail in our home brings a smile to my face and makes me think of Sam. Every time we use the dining room, I look up at the antique Waterford chandelier with a chain cover made from his mother's antique linen sheets. Makes me smile, yet sad at the same time. I miss him. I met him as an undergrad student at Tulane in his Louisiana Architecture class and have admired him ever since.
I heart NOLA. I miss Samuel Wilson, Jr.
