JONES SPENDS THOUSANDS ON HER OFFICE BUT CANNOT FIND MONEY TO HELP HER DISTRICT
In response to our YouTube video (see below) discussing Commissioner Jones' record, she stated at the North Walton Republican meeting this month that she did not bring items before the board for her district because she did not have any recreation plat fee money like other districts have. Well, District 2 doesn’t have plat fee money because there is no growth in District 2.
In four years she has done nothing to try any bring any new business in and has fought the workforce housing initiatives of other commissioners that would have fueled growth and jobs. Apparently, she does not realize that the county General Fund budget is 150 million dollars and she can ask for some of those funds to repair historic buildings (Glendale School, Darlington School etc.) in her district that the county owns and is responsible for. She can request funding for economic initiatives that would bring growth to her district and help our children and grandchildren get a quality job.
At least she could have used the $40,000 that she spent on her district office to solve some of the pressing needs in her district and utilized the office that her predecessors had used for years.
Actions speak louder than words and she has failed to take care of her district for the last 4 years. It is time for a change and time to use money available to the District 2 commissioner to help bring economic growth to North Walton.
A $6000.00 desk for Sowal when she was elected there and now this?
What was wrong with the District office her predecessors had used? Nothing!
No money in Platt fees because there is no growth in District 2 but plenty of money to send $600 thousand dollars to the SoWal sports complex for "lighting" while NoWal gets WILDFLOWERS.
Why is C. Jones allowed all the fancy creature comforts and rich, expensive accommodations, LIVING LARGE at tax payer expense but the Senior Center is barely scraping by to help provide help and hot meals for our elderly? How many meals could $40 thousand dollars have bought?
Life really is all about priorities but for C. Jones it's all about "appearances". As long as she has a fancy office for a PART TIME job her District doesn't matter. Her actions prove it!
