A Trip Down Memory Lane!
Back in April 2017 a citizen, who happens to be married to the Union President for North Walton County Fire Rescue took the podium at a PUBLIC BCC meeting to address her concerns over the LACK of leadership, the incompetence and poor management of NoWal County Fire Rescue under Bobby Martin's leadership. Her comments spoke directly to the study done by the Walton County Sheriff's office who supported Walton County Fire Rescue being moved under the auspices of the Sheriff's Department to improve safety and living conditions for the men and women who put their lives on the line daily to protect Walton County citizens.
Bernadette Canut was immediately taken to task by Bill Chapman and Cecilia Jones as well, telling her she was NOT going to disrespect or talk about staff and were both HIGHLY defensive of Bobby Martin as was Sara Commander.
Yesterday, we learned a lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court Northern District on April 11 2017 (just days before Ms. Canut spoke to the BCC) against Bobby Martin, Chief James McMillian and HR Director for Walton County Ella Mae Walters for discrimination based on Sex/Gender/ Pregnancy.
So, there you have it folks, the BCC doesn't care about your concerns they care about protecting employees who are dippin their wicks in the HR's wax and protecting employees who really did lack leadership, was incompetent and couldn't manage Walton County Fire Rescue!!
