Any Formula 1 fans out there?

never miss a race, it is much more technologically advanced than nascar, i can't recall an instance where a nascar driver has moved to F1...so i question the "realness" of the nascar drivers

I used to watch F1 when Danny Sullivan was driving - he was from Louisville too and the guys would watch all the races, so of course the girls had to as well! We loved drooling over the European drivers like Senna, Prost, Piquet, and my fave Keke Rosberg. When Danny switched over to Indy cars, we lost interest.

At the height of our fascination with all things F1, we were in Monaco one week before the Monaco Grand Prix- what a crazy race on those streets! Took lots of pix at different spots on the course.

WOW, I bet that was amazing. THey say the sound, while the race is going through the streets is absolutely deafening. In my opinion I believe that Fernado Alonso is arguable the best talent on the grid as far as just pure driver talent and car control.

The cars sure are ugly this yr. I wish they would just go back to a V12 and no budget limits, then we would see such a development frenzy which would help out the consumer vehicles. This new KERS crap is just ridiculous on a race car. The consumer market already has hybrids and electric. No gain for any of the manufactures buy F1 using a technology that is already widely used by the Car market today. :idontno:

I turned my back on F1 in 2005 with the whole US Grand Prix fiasco. If they couldn't get their act together to produce a real race for the fans, some of who paid huge $$$$ to be there, then it was a sign they weren't intesested in my viewership.

You got a steering wheel and 4 tires. Cole Trickle could whip all the Euro drivers.

Ooooh this post makes me so sad that Formula 1 is not returning to Indianapolis. Jdarg is right on the mark about how exciting the races were. And the fans! The most amazing people watching EVER. We'd go to the race as much to see the race as to see the people attending the race (even better than the 500).

Our guy friends would go to to Detroit every year- and hold up sound recorders during the race. They could identify the cars/teams by the engine sounds.:floor:Total F1 geeks. After the race, we would have to listen to the screaming engine recordings instead of music for weeks.

One guy went on to engineering school (ME), then worked for some Ford subsidiaries, and ended up working for a company that did business with a Brazilian F1 team. Talk about a cool engineering job! He had his eye on the prize.

F1 is going to return to the states, no question about that. Only ?? is where. The new USA F1 team will be running in 2010, this will bring back alot of the fans who were dissed in 05.

Put it back at Watkins Glen, NY. Many fond memories of sleeping in a pup tent next to your car and walking the course all day. Have an ancient photo of my then "wife to be" all bundled up ( up-state NY can be cold ) and standing in front of the Ferrari team bus. YOu could get a lot closer in those days.
