Anybody doing any bay fishing?...

We've caught several nice specks off our pier with live pinfish. And I got the fight of my life the other night with about a 20 lb. jack hooked on 12 lb test. We've been catching a few bluefish and skipjacks as well. All have been fun to catch.

This has been a particularly good year for crabs I'm being told. We've had some nice fat ones in the traps for several weeks now.

Can I ask what you use for bait and at what depth should the traps be at? We've never had much luck with our traps in the bayou. We use chicken and have put them at various depths.

How long do you leave them out? Is night better than day?

We are using the box traps. Baiting with fish seems to result in less bait being stolen. I don't think time of day matters much, just set your traps and be patient!

Well, caught lots of baitfish today with the help of the Dargs and Grayton Kid. Only hardheads on the line, but they were put to good use for crab bait. There are some nice redfish and specs to be had, just had to leave before they came close to shore

Mr. IBD caught some cats the other night at the mouth. I know some people dont care for them but they are one of my fave's. Hopefully in about a month we can join in with a report from our dock

Caught a really pretty gafftop catfish last night, probably weighed 10 pounds and fought like the devil
