Mr. Ibd and I are thinking of purchasing a gaming system for the family as well as little IBD for Christmas. Wow there are ALOT of choices. I have no idea what to get since the last system I had was an original Atari - seriously.
I want something that has plenty to choose from for all ages AND will not be obsolete in 5 years.

Dargs? Beachmom? I know yall have these at your house, whaddayathink???

Pros? Cons? I would love to hear some SoWal expert advice.....

The Nintendo Wii will be the mainstay for quite a few years. You can never go wrong with Nintendo for younger children. The Wii plays Nintendo Gamecube games, as well as the capability to download classic games online. I wouldn't go any other way.:D AND it won't cost an arm and a leg.

The only problem is...finding one.

We bought a Wii a few weeks ago for our son for Xmas. We couldn't find one anywhere. But Game Stop told us to call there every day at 3pm to see if they had a new shipment that day. We were assured we'd have one within a week. 2 days later I called, they had one, and we hopped in the car to go get it. They won't hold one for you. This might still work.

Seriously, Atari and Intellevision are pretty much the pinnacle of video gaming in my book. Atari football is a classic!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Besides, if that fancy pants Madden thing is so great, why can't you throw a pass the entire length of the field while steering the ball?
