Tim and I were just coming back from PCB and there was an accident on 98 right in front of Christian International. Appeared to be RV vs. auto. The car was overturned. It was not pretty. 98 East was not obstructed...not sure about 98 West. Be careful if going in this direction. I hope no one was injured...:(

Saw the clean up coming back from PCB today, from the looks of what was left of the car there were most definitely injuries.

Is this it?

POINT WASHINGTON - A Fort Walton Beach woman was badly hurt Tuesday afternoon after her car overturned twice on U.S. Highway 98 in Walton County.

Kristin Manning, 23, was still in the emergency room at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola on Tuesday night. She suffered critical injuries in the wreck just after 3:30 p.m., Florida Highway Patrol troopers reported.

Manning was headed east on U.S. 98 near Old Ferry Road in Point Washington behind a van that was towing a trailer, an FHP crash investigator said in a report. She was traveling faster than the van, hit it and spun out of control, according to the report.
When her left-side tires dug into the pavement, Manning's Volkswagen Jetta rolled over twice and landed on its roof in the grass median.

The van fishtailed and jackknifed into the inside eastbound lane.

The van's occupants, 64-year-old driver Maurice Harrison and Mary Harrison, also 64, both of Frisco, Texas, were unhurt, according to the FHP.

Everyone was wearing seatbelts and the crash was not alcohol-related, according to the report. Charges are pending.

FWIW, one reason I think there are problems in that spot is because it's one of the only spots where you're in a 65mph zone while coming around a slight curve. Also, it seems that once people get to that general area, they're in SUCH a hurry they nearly push you off the road trying to get by... almost like they know there's just nothing out there for the long stretch and it turns into a raceway.

I can not say how I know this but this is what happened just prior to the accident as I understand, The older couple were doing 45MPH in a 65MPH, The 23 year old was text messaging on her cell phone doing 65-75MPH at the point of collision.
