Hello everyone!!! we are back from our wonderful vacation in cape san blas,
I am working on the pictures right now, and Ktschris and I have much to report.....but for now heres a little preview.......

I was just, and I swear, getting ready to hit the new thread button to ask you and ktschris..to hurry up and get those trip reports done!!! Glad you had a good time and a safe trip. The pictures are beautiful. Looking forward to a trip report!!! Welcome back.

Beautiful! Can't wait to hear a full report...glad you are home SAFE!

Love the pics! Can't wait to hear about your trip! Please give us your comparisons of the two areas..Sowal and the Cape. The cape looks gorgeous too!

I  the Cape. One spontaneous trip down there in 2002 is what opened my eyes to the beauty of the Gulf coast in general, and what ultimately led me to SoWal. Did you get to walk all the way past civilization to the very tip, where all the birds and shells are? Magic, mystic place over there.

It?s hard for me to believe a week ago I was sitting in a chair, gazing at the water, giving myself a poor women?s pedicure by rubbing my feet back in forth in the sand! What a way to spend a week!! The houses were large and gorgeous. We all had pools and hot tubs right on the beach ? with incredible views, as you can see from Seagrovelovers pics. The Cape was beautiful. We got in Sunday afternoon and hit the beach right away. I couldn?t get over how many shells there were. The kids had a blast. We had a somewhat smaller group this year (4 houses) and had the beach to ourselves. It was wonderful. The water was still a little murky from the TS a week before, but by Tuesday, it cleared up. And by Thursday all the shells were gone. Tuesday night was awesome. Gene Mitchell (?) came down to play at our private party on the beach ? lot?s of drink and dancing. At night the stars were so intense, it looked like a painting. We could not have asked for better weather, only one little ?shower? on Saturday that lasted about an hour. I had a blast. Only 2 small complaints. First of all ? not one store carried frozen lemonade, which is a KEY ingredient in Gin Buckets, my new drink of choice. But with a little improvising we over came that problem, all was good again. The second one is a biggie ? Wednesday night the mosquitoes came. I have never seen anything like it! At first we tried to ignore them, but you can?t. By Thursday night, we were prisoners in the houses! You literally could not sit out at night. Friday night was worse than Thursday, but by Saturday (strong breeze, cooler evening) they were better. LOL Our car got filled with them when we were packing up Sat. night ? my son was still swatting at them when we crossed into Kentucky!

The boys (and a few of the girls) went deep sea fishing on Thursday and brought back a TON of fish, we had a huge fish fry on Friday and still everyone got to bring home bags of it!

I don?t know about any of the local restaurants or shops, the only place I made it was to the Trading Post for yet more gin and a pair of ?crocks? for my daughter ? the extent of my souvenir shopping :)

My camera was acting up ? battery wouldn?t hold a charge and I think my husband filled our memory stick the night of the beach party ? so I don?t know about my pics yet, haven?t had a chance to look. I know there are a ton of them out there though, so I will post when I get them.

Sure wish I was back there now ? with out the skeeters of course!

Good report, ktschris. The place looks extremely nice. I'm glad you had a good time. I'm also glad you didn't listen to the ballgame one night. Whoa, 20-6. :bang: I thought of you immediately.
