VERY excited about the new Bay principal- Tamara Hightower! :clap:We are looking forward to a wonderful year!

It is that time again. Take Monday off from work, take the kids to school, spend the morning cleaning that final summer mess and then enjoy the remaining hours in peace and quiet.
I love the first day back.

 the kids are excited too ~ but for entirely different reasons! lol

High school peeps and parents - be aware that SWHS's school day will now start at 7:45 a.m. This may not be a biggie for many of y'all, but we used to leave the house at 7:45.

And unless something has changed, there is still no access from 331 except via Coastal Centre. BE CAREFUL there and on J.D. Miller Rd.

Why is there a new grading scale? :idontno:

IMO if you are only getting 60% correct or only doing 60% of the work you deserve an F.

WAY too early for those poor teenagers! :yikes:

The grading scales pretty much have always been 90 - 100 A, 80 - 89 B, etc. I wasn't aware that we had elementary schools that required a minimum of 94 for an A. I do not remember it being that way when Squirt went through Butler Elementary a few short years ago.

Anything below a 60 is an F.

I was wondering about access to South Walton High School off 331. That will be very rough for parents, students and staff. Does anyone know if the road contractor has the school entrance on the front burner? Hopefully, there will be extra traffic control. Lots of business and work traffic heading to South Walton at that time. Workers and employers along 30A and South Walton need to be aware of possible delays on Monday, Aug. 24, and beyond until the school entrance is rebuilt and open.
