Anti-bacterial soap is really bad for the environment. Just saying.

Crap! I thought it was just bad for our immune systems (aside from the whole plastic thing).

Good thing I use it sparingly because IMO most germs are good!

Plastic bag ban OK'd in parts of L.A. County - U.S. news - Environment - msnbc.com

Parts of LA county have banned plastic bags AND instituted a 10 cent fee for paper bags.

Let's try to ban plastic bags in Sowal!

I'll go ahead and post that it will hurt tourism to get it out of the way.

Do you seriously think tourists would stop coming here if our retailers no longer used plastic bags?

[TreeFrog]

I am being stymied right and left in my attempts to de-plasticize my life!

Everything and its mother is plastic wrapped! Tried to buy bar soap instead of liquid at the store (like the movie suggested) and it now has a plastic wrapper.

The last time I bought Ivory bar soap, only a few weeks ago, it was still in paper.

Lye soap isn't antibacterial, but does an outstanding job of washing away the germs. And, a rinse with moonshine kills any bacteria lingering around.

No, but figured I'd beat someone else to making the statement.

[Zebraspots]

It is good for tourism - less trash blowing around.

My cousin has started selling her cloth gift bags on Etsy - our family has been using them instead of wrapping paper or paper gift bags for years, but she has been too busy with her kids to sell outside the family!

Did anyone ever find out how to get a copy of 'The Janitor' from Sunday night?
