Does anyone know the name of the band that played at Ballyhoo on Sun nite? They were very enjoyable and I never got their name.

We saw the band too and thought they were great. This is from another thread in the Dining Forum.

"Live music tonight through Sunday from 7-10 or so. Shane O'Dazier from Nashville is playing with a few other guys from up that way. Good band for an opening weekend. "

Ballyhoo

First visit ( probablythe last visit was on Monday, Memorial Day)
The menu does not offer anything more interesting than bar food, which is obviously purchased from a large food supplier. Lots of fried, tasteless food. For example the Calamari respresented little rings of rubber bands which were the immediate cousin to Mrs Pauls frozen onion rings.. tasteless and over cooked, plus served with canned room temp red sauce. The wings ( a dozen for $12.95, now come on).. tough, greasy, and no flavor. The server, bless his heart, told us at least a dozen times, he was new, did not have any experience and no one was helping the poor lad.. We left went to McTighes..
Great local bar, good value for the dollar, food exceptional for bar food.

In conclusion.. too expensive for locals, food not good, service, very slow.

i have a menu in front of me and it says wings are $7.95 a dozen:idontno:.

give them a break....it was their first week :D

i think they stated in another thread that they are a place that people can stop in and get a reasonably priced sandwich and listen to a band and have a beer. also mentioned they have bar food.

i haven't been yet...but can't wait to stop by. i think you should never judge a place on the fifth day of being opened...and especially on one of the busiest day of summer

Hmmm...wings are not $12.95. The grouper plate is $12.95 and that's about as expensive as the menu gets. It's not fine dining...that's not what they are going for. There are plenty of wonderful restaurants in our area that meet that need. Every restaurant has to have time to get kinks worked out. I think they are doing great given that they have only been open a week. Of course, I'm biased...
