I hate using it as a landmark, but when I describe the location all I get are blank looks until I say the Starbucks, and then it's "Oh, I know where that is!" followed by "I've always wondered what was back there"

Beautiful! How do you access the beach?

The politically correct ways to access the beach from Lakeplace:
canoe or kayak across Western Lake to the outflow of the Lake to the Gulf, or ride your bicycle through Grayton.
The generally used way to access the beach from Lakeplace:
load the family in the truck and drive

From the Lake, you can also boat to Watercolor's Bait House Restaurant or to the Grayton Dock and then to the Red Bar or D & K's.

It's all funn.
