Begging for cash from cars at Silver Sands

OK, what is up with they guys begging cars for donations stopped at the intersection of 98 and Silver Sands??? I think they say they are from a church, but I for some reason doubt it......does anyone know if this is ligit? Can any orgization or group grab a bucket and walk in between cars trying to get cash? I know we had the Softball team on 30A over the summer, but on 98 weekend rush hour traffic....talk about making things more dangerous on Bloody 98, these guys are going to get run over or make somone else get in a wreck.

...maybe someone complained about them laying around in the grass, holding a sign and smoking cigarettes all day, so now they're actively hustling for money

maybe they are working on a plan to help the children get health insurance. they might be the parents of children that dont smoke and this is the master plan sent from our pres. next?

It's a scam, call the non-emergency number to the Sheriff's department. That first patrol car through and they'll scatter.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was legit but I utterly loathe this way of collection donations and am amazed that no one ever seems to die while wandering out into traffic.

Monday I was traveling West and they were there at a light and some freaking idiot actually stopped his car during a green light to give them money and of course, they ran right out in the road to get it with cars swerving to miss the stopped idiot.

I nearly got side swiped by someone who turned hard at the last second to miss rearending him.

That is no intersection to be doing that. Way dangerous.

I'd be willing to bet it's about 99% administrative fees.

Call the county Admin office they are required to have a permit and have it on site with them. Thay also must carry insurance
