Where is the best bbq in sowal/destin area?

Is there a thread somewhere or a "best of" - for restaurants, etc?

Thank you!

It is really hard to beat 98 Bar-B-Que on Hwy 98 for service, price and barbeque. It is West of the strip mall containing the Post Office and is also in a strip mall on the North side of Hwy98. For other places which are really good, scroll down the Dining & Food forum. There is one thread of recommendations, mostly posted by locals.

Jambone is great!

The BBQ place in Seaside (in the airstream) is also supposed to be quite good, but haven't tested it personally.

If you like Brisket, it is great at 98 Barbecue! Their sauce is great too. I get two sides of the fried corn thingies with my order. Yummy! But yes, the airstream in Seaside does smell good. Haven't tasted it yet though. It's mostly P and J for me.

JamBones!!!! My fave....large menu. Had beer battered fried shrimp there last night and it was fabulous!!!!

I haven't tried Barefoot's yet, but Cocoon's has always been a winner for BBQ and lots of other goodies.

I like 98BBQ for a close option. They have a great sauce, staff and taste. But, my favorite in the area, other than my own, is Pig's Alley just east of the outlets on the north side of 98. Real pit bbq, a great sauce and not poorly priced.
