Best Beauty Bargain

New posts
I'm enjoying all the girly girl celeb talk. ;-)

What product/s do you use that works as well for you as a department store or salon brand? Im always on the look out for a good bargain. My taste usually exceeds my budget so please...indulge me with all your secrets!

I've found that Maybelline Express finish nail polish stays on almost as long as OPI at half the cost. I do love the fun names of the OPI nail polish and always find a favorite at the beginning of summer and usually wear it all season. Peru-B- Ruby is one I never tire of.

I'm really fond of Clinique products, but I always wait for "bonus time" at the various department stores in the area to make my purchases so I get all the free goodies (many of which are full size products.)

I also like many of the Burt's Bees lotions and creams - especially their coconut foot Cream and their lemon butter cuticle cream. At least once a week I try to put some of each on before bedtime with cotton socks and gloves for overnight skin rejuvenation. Their products are not at all expensive.

This isn't really a bargain...but I have this mascara that people have been flipping out over. I get more compliments on my eyelashes...it's nuts. It's being featured in Shop ETC. bc an editor died over my eyelashes.

Anyhoo...it's Trish McEvoy Lash Curling Mascara in Jet Black.
I swear by it.

Kimmifun - where do they sell Trish McEvoy products? Department stores? I am looking to splurge on some good mascara for my sparse and delicate lashes and might give your recommendation a try.

Yeah- It's at most department stores. I know Saks carries it...Bloomindales. If you're in the Chi-Town area you should definitely check it out. It's amazing! Let me know how you like it.

www.makeupalley.com is an excellent place to read reviews for beauty products of all kinds.

I like going to TJ Maxx for soaps and moisturizers. Excellent European brands and very inexpensive compared to department store and boutique prices.

In the drug store, Dove makes excellent products. I like their moisturizers and cleansers as much as Clinique, which is what I've been using for years. In fact, I've gotten away from Clinique's 3-step facial program because the Dove products work as well for so much less. The Dove moisturizer even has a 15 spf, which I like in the summertime.

When it comes to makeup, I'm all over the place! I am definitely not brand loyal. I hit all the cosmetic counters at Nordstrom downtown and buy a little here and there.

Kfunn - I tried to find some of that awesome stuff when I was in Atlanta last week - yes, I have been obsessing over it myself.

Went in Parisian and was told Macy's didn't have it either - will someone mail it to me? We don't have this at our local department stores as of yet - do you think Belk and Beals will have it soon?!?!?!? I have to say "hahahahaha" because I don't have smileys to use!!!

i like bobbi browns spf leave in hair conditioner for using at the beach and when in the sun. i seems to keep my hair from drying out so badly.

me too. Mine are very sparse - - like about 10 lashes per eye.

Mine are short, sparse and light brown. Just after Thanksgiving I was curling the lashes on my left eye and my hand slipped, and I ripped out a whole section of lashes - probably about a quarter of the lashes on that eye. They have finally grown back, but now I noticed a big section missing on my right eye. Bottom line, I think I need to get rid of eyelash curlers and find a good mascara that will eliminate the need for them. Or perhaps someone can recommend a different type of eyelash curler?
