Big ole jellyfish

New posts
I hate jellyfish more than anything at the beach! I absolutely won't go in the water if I see them lurking around! Ick!

 That thing is huge! I saw part of a show about some jellyfish in Australia that are undectable by the eye and can kill you with one sting!!!!

Eeek! I was stung once in SoWal, and another time we went way out on rafts--too far--and ended up SURROUNDED by them. That was terrifying. Now I'm afraid of them.

Another good use for Vinegar -- Jellyfish stings. Vinegar is ranked just under duck tape for its numerous uses. :D

I saw that too!
On one of our trips to Florida, we went out on a boat with a friend to see the dolphins up close and personal just off PCB. A big storm came up and we had to beat it back to shore. Well, there was lightning flashing all around and our skipper couldn't pull all the way up on the beach so he told us we'd have to jump in and wade in. The water was probably about six feet deep. Anyway, we looked over the side and the water was FULL of jellyfish! So, we had a choice--the lightning or the jellyfish! We took the jellyfish--amazingly enough only my stepdaughter got stung. My daughter pratically walked on water! Afterwards of course it was a good story and every time my husband told it, it got more dramatic, but it WAS scary!

Holy cow that thing is giant!!!!! Lets hope it stays in those waters and never comes close to ours!!!!! ;-)

Oh my gosh. That gives me major willies!
I have never really been stung...i remember after a hurricane back in the day...J-funn and I went surfing :funn: (at 6am) and there were like little churned up pieces of jellyfish that made me itch. So I called it an early day (shocking).
Other than that I've been cool.
Oh...what are those hand grenade things. They are like jellyfish without tentacles....a certain beach "Crab" was out on the beach with us one day and was throwing them. And we saw them at Crab Island a lot and people are always heaving them.
