my hubby went to take his mom her birthday present and stopped at the gas station up the road to get a bag of ice. he got home, got a snack and headed to the basement and realized he didn't have his wallet. he said he thought he left it at his mom and dad's - called them, no wallet. he said he didn't have it out to get the ice, he used money he had in his coat pocket. i immediately called and at least cancelled his check card. he decided to run up to the gas station and see if anyone turned a wallet in. he parked over on the side where he parked before, and there lay his wallet !!! nothing take from it, all the cash and credit cards and everything untouched. his guardian angel was looking out for him today - thankfully he noticed right away he had lost it. so now he has to get a new check card, small price to pay in my opinion, right ?

Audie, I have always believed that what goes around, comes around. It's like that new show, "My Name is Earl." If you do nice things for other people and treat them right, good karma should follow you. So glad that your hubby found his wallet! I had a similar experience a few years ago - we were Christmas shopping at a very busy and crowded mall with my kids. Ate at the food court, then decided to take the kids to the play area. We were down there for about a half hour when it occured to me I didn't have my purse. I ran back to the food court in a panic and looked under the table where we ate and it wasn't there. One of the workers then mentioned to me that someone found a purse and had taken it to the mall service desk - there wasn't a thing missing from it. I was so relieved and surprised - felt like someone was looking out for me, too!

Those findings are so wonderful to hear!!! :clap_1: Now, I will rain on this parade. Three years ago, Mr. K and were spending our first New Year's week in SoWal. Decided to try Angelina's takeout. Mr. K realized his wallet was missing almost immediately on arriving back from pickup. Called...no wallet. Drove over and crawled all over the parking lot and ditch...no wallet. Called sheriff...no wallet. Repeat those steps three times...no wallet. BUMMER!!!! For some reason, we've never been back to Angelina's.

I will say he has also lost his wallet in the Tampa airport and someone found it and called him and then sent it to him. This is more likely happen to our resident, Mr. Magoo!

you don't even know how thankful we were for him to find that darned wallet. i don't know how it managed to fall outof his pocket, his pants are so baggy in the butt i know it wasn't squeezed out by the pressure !! he was very very lucky, because wallet and purse snatching are big activities around here anymore. they have even taken to breaking into employee's lockers at the hospital and taking purses etc. luckily i am in a totally locked atmosphere with only employee access, but i know several nurses who got robbed right before christmas and in every case the criminal(s) took the credit cards and hit the meijer up the road first, then headed to walmart. people who steal make me angry ! :pissed:

The worst is when people steal from people in the nursing home! I have to say it doesn't happen too much where I work, but it has in other places. They particularly love to take their Christmas presents! :pissed: I worked one place years ago, where I was following a nurse aide up the hall and she had on white pants and her underwear had a resident's name written across the butt!! Well, let's just say she didn't work there when I caught up with her! :pissed:

Stealing underwear from nursing home residents? That has to be the lowest of the low! :pissed:

Yep...Oh, the stories I could tell! :pissed:

When I was in college, a friend lost her purse on the DC Metro- wallet, keys, and all. It was turned in at the Metro Center station, contents totally untouched.

i used to work in a nursing home too, it broke my heart the way the elderly were dumped off and forgotten in some cases. i never say anything in the way of stealing possessions, i saw a lot of helping themselves to patients candy, lotions, and stuff like that. i am sure lots of other stuff went on, i just didn't see it.

Yes, it's amazing...the ones that "dump" them off and forget are the first ones to bi*ch when something happens. We don't even see them until Mom falls or has to go to the hospital for some reason.

I'll never forget the first one I worked in there was a lady whose daughter dropped her off and told her it was a hotel and that she'd be back in three days to get her. Well, of course the only time she ever came back was to pay her bill and then never walked down the hall to see her mother. She always came in the evenings at dinner time. Anyway, the little lady would pack her bag and sit in the lobby every day waiting for her! :pissed: I could see her from my office and just cried over the whole thing! My boss told me to not get involved because you never know what dynamics took place in that family.....well, sorry that was her MOTHER! Anyway, sorry for the tangent...I couldn't help it!
