Black Friday

New posts
I did that ONE TIME when my kids were little.....NEVER NEVER again!!!!!!!

I told my mom since she loves it so much I'll give her my Christmas lists & she can shop for me! Problem is I'm such a procrastinator that I don't have any lists ready yet :bang:

I will wake up at 4 AM for one reason- to drive to the beach.

Oh yeah....and if you are up, you sometimes check to see if Miss Kitty was up before the roosters!!!

As most of you know, I tend to be up way too early sometimes....but believe me when I say....you will NOT catch me out in a line or driving to a mall at that hour!!!!

Try finding an X-Box 360 like my son wants. On the local news tonight, people had stood in line for 14 HOURS at Wmart to buy one. Then in 3 cases, someone had followed them home and robbed them of it at gunpoint!!
There's nothing I want that badly!

Suncat, I picked up my son today from college and he told me he wants one of those things too (really, I thought at 18 1/2 he'd have outgrown that stuff but apparently not!). He said the price will drop a lot after Christmas. What are they? $400? $300? In any event, a ridiculous amount of $$. My son very "graciously" offered to accept one for his late February birthday, "...so you can get it cheaper." HA!

I love shopping online at Overstocks.com! I bought a lot of stuff for the condo from there, even the iron bed. It came in a big box and took a while to assemble, but it looks beautiful and it's sturdy as anything. I've been pretty impressed with what I've ordered from them and their shipping is negligible.

Overstock.com might be the way to go for the Xbox360.
My 16 year old son (BTW, my 22 year looks down on this stuff, but whenever he's home, he sure likes to play!) wants one too, but no way am I giving into Bill Gates' hype.
Mostly just the bundled 360s were sold yesterday--close to $700. Forget it!
Come February, the market will be flooded with those Xboxes.

Online shopping really is the way to go.
Some sanctimonious types like to declare Black Friday as the day that we should stay home rather join the mad consumption of holiday shopping. I detest that "should" stuff. I am neither a ravenous spender nor an ascetist; I love the holidays, am a conservative gift-giver, and consider myself a savvy consumer. And if I do the online thing, at least I am not contributing to air pollution. ;-)

I agree that Microsoft knows exactly what they are doing in marketing the new X-Box. My son has decided to sell his Playstation Portable and use that money on the new x-box. Yes, they are about $400. and I doubt if that includes the accessories and games that they just "have to have with it." His name is on a waiting list. I'm still waiting for him to "outgrow" this video game thing, but it isn't happening.

The daughter wants a high-end digital camera...What happened to the days of going to Toys R Us and buying Legos and Barbies?

Otters HATE shopping. My mom gets up at 4 AM.....she loves the thrill of shopping with millions of other sick, cranky people. She tried to talk me into it.....I told her I would rather have a root canal.....no seriously, I would !!

I hate shopping also. My sister and I did the Black Friday thing last year. Never, will I subject myself to that again. I will wait for the week before Christmas to do my shopping, like I usually do. The root canal, is so much less painful that getting all mixed up those crazy folks out there!!!!
