I agree. Tom Cruise is REALLY out there these days ! Who buys their own sonogram machine???? Anyway, the brother-in-law of a very good friend of mine is a partner in a Toledo, Ohio law firm with Katie's dad. Her parents, needless to say, are very concerned about the relationship. And I think that's putting it mildly according to my friend.

There has been so much press recently about how terribly their Christmas visit with Katie's parents went! I'd read an article early in the relationship saying how much her dad disapproved, and it doesn't seem to have gotten any better. Really, can you blame him? Though I bet he's doubting himself as a parent now, poor guy, wondering what he did to raise such an idiot!

i'll just bet nicole kidman is shaking her head and thinking, man i dodged the bullet on that one. i think he is way too involved with scientology, and what's up with converting everyone to it? i would tell him to pi$$ off ! and another thing - what's up with katie's chintzy ring - he has more money that god, he could've afforded something way better. send back the sonogram and upgrade that ring tom !

According to my friend, and the news Katie and her family are pretty devout Catholics. They must be devastated. I even think that Katie went to Catholic schools. She is acting pretty idiotic. But that's what Hollywood will do to you I guess !

Peapod, I know one of her teachers from high school. She said she was a wonderful girl and I have also heard that her parents are quite upset. I am sure that her parents did a great job of raising her but you only have your children for so long and then they are off on their own and responsible for their own actions. I think if they choose to go off to Hollywood all bets are off. I applaud the actors that intentionally move away from that scene so that they have a better chance of living a "normal life". Whatever that is.

Gypsea, I totally agree with you. I think I worded things badly--when I said "poor guy," I truly meant that. I feel terrible for him that, in spite of all his best efforts, he sees her choices and probably doubts himself as a parent.
