Breast Awareness

New posts
Absolutely go - I went at 40 and they found some tumors - precancerous - they are now gone (surgery)- 4years later they found more - gone again. now my surgeon tells me I should never have to worry about breast cancer because I have too many people watching for it - so therefore if it does come back they will get it early.

Please go - no one can take care of our health but ourselves.

Listen to Johnrudy. Isn't 40 the age for a baseline with no family history?

40 Is the age with no family history. My mother and aunt did not survive breast cancer, so I got my baseline at 35. It is so important.

Yes it is, but all of my dr's., and I've had LOTS of them in FL and IL, they all seem to agree that it's not a bad idea to start earlier. The family history is important to consider, but someone could still have breast cancer w/o a family risk. No matter what anyone says about the risk of having too many mammo's. over a life time, it's still better to be safe than sorry.

Thank you Dabell. Just go and get yours as soon as you can. Just because you have no history of the disease does not mean that you are safe. Remember that and go and get that Mammie!!!!!

Thank you Sue. Well it is either that or sit around and feel sorry for myself for the losses. I chose NOT to do that, doesn' help in any way. So, I do what I can to inform others, and I laugh alot, the medicine to cure all in my book.

Mastectomy Bill in Congress

It takes 2 seconds to do this and is very important...please take the time
and do it really quick!

Breast Cancer Hospitalization Bill - Important legislation for all women.

Please send this to everyone in your address book. If there was ever a time
when our voices and choices should be heard, this is one of those times. If
you are receiving this it's because I think you will take the 30 seconds to
go and vote on this issue and send it on to others you know who will do the
same.

There's a bill called the Breast Cancer Patient Protection Act which will
require insurance companies to cover a minimum 48-hour hospital stay for
patients undergoing a mastectomy. It's about eliminating the "drive-through
mastectomy" where women are forced to go home hours after surgery against
the wishes of their doctor, still groggy from anesthesia and sometimes with
drainage tubes still attached.

Lifetime Television has put this bill on their web page with a petition
drive to show your support. Last year over half the House signed on.

PLEASE!! Sign the petition by clicking on the web site below. You need not
give more than your name and zip code number.

This takes about 2 seconds. PLEASE PASS THIS ON to your friends and family.
THANKS
