I just wanted to update all of you who wrote such nice words on Monday. Our little guy DUKE was put under yesterday to have his leg popped back in place, picked him up around five last night. So far he is doing pretty good, I on the other hand was a wreck all day yesterday!!!! he has a cast as long as the leg and hasn't figured out yet that he CAN walk on that leg. It really is sad to watch (but funny as well) he looks like he's dialing a phone with the casted leg when he walks!! I guess it will take a couple days for him to get familiar with the whole idea. Thank's to all who comforted me on Monday when this terrible accident occured. You are all so wonderful  I will try to post a pic today.

Hey, Girl. I thought about little Duke last night and was going to ask you for an update today. You beat me to it. I am so glad he is going to be ok. He will do just fine with the cast as soon as he get's used to it. Please post pics!!! Take care, I will send good thoughts your way for you and the baby!!!

Thanks for the update, I was thinking about him. "Going under" can be scary when you have such a small dog. Glad everything turned out fine. I bet he is cute and probably a little pitiful looking too. Take care!

They always do well after the 1st 24 - 36 hours it seems. Our border collie, Rudy, broke his leg a few years ago, had to have the surgery ($1,500!!), leg set with a pin, etc. Came home with the elizabethan collar, & leg cast. We had been carrying him up and down the deck stairs to go potty. Then one day about 4 days after his surgery, he saw a squirrel, got so excited that he squeezed between the railing on the deck and JUMPED off and ran across the yard to try to get that squirrel. We all saw it and were screaming and freaking out. He was fine and has been ever since! None of us will ever forget that day. We just coulndn't imagine the pain he must have felt! (and, no he never got that squirrel.)

We ARE talking about dogs, right? I just figured Duke was a dog, I hope!
