When it gets this cold in Destin, I start searching property listings in St. John. (Which, interestingly enough aren't much worse than they are here.)

30ashopper-Am a southern gal of the same mind as you, but had a rudy awakening 12/22 this year when dh and I arrived in Belize for a warm and sunny day and found that these freaky cold fronts can go on down that far! Around 68 most of the day, which is better than the 40 it is in Fairhope right now, but the dream is gone. Got to go FARTHER some times. Is okay tho. the dream as of today is the two weeks at Sugar Dunes in Sept. we just booked! Dreaming closer these days! To all readers, Happy New Year!

It's a whopping 2 degrees here. But then when you go shopping, all the stores have the heat blasting for the light-weights. I feel as though I'm going to have a heat stroke.

Try sweaty yoga! 105 degrees. I love it and did finally pick my bones up off the sofa and drive over.......never got above freezing here. In the South, we don't mind cold so much for a day or two and with snow so we don't have to go to work/school, but this is ridiculous! We aren't expected to warm up all week......no snow either . I feel scammed.

You would have hated it here yesterday. The WIND chill was something like 50 below. I went to the museum and had a lovely day!!!

This nice sunny beach never got above 45 today, with chill factor in the 30's. And more of the same for the next several days. Brrrrrrrr, indeed.

I'd take that over upper 20's to mid 30's any day Miss Critter. They are showing 12 for us Tuesday morning and around 15 Wednesday morning and beyond. A 40% chance of snow Wednesday night and 60% Thursday. I like snow but not on a work day when I have to drive in it. We are bad for getting more ice than snow.
