Cafe Rendezvous out, Vintij in

New posts
Did you cheat and call someone?! You were supposed to only look in your chrystal ball. I think it will involve many of my favorite "C" words. Chardonnay, Cheese, Chocolate and Cuisine.

With Vintij at Seaside and the new WaterColor additions, that will be a Golden Circle.

what watercolor additions??

i think we have plenty of wine options on 30a and in miramar beach already. i'm all about good, reasonable food with a fun atmosphere. being a local, that's what i really seek out.

Certainly there is some agreement here. These changes aren't really adding "new in number" additions to the wine options on 30-A. Vintij is replacing Rendezvous at Seaside and the new food/wine establishment at WaterColor will just be replacing something that is already there(which served wine already). These two "new to 30-A" restaurants are excellent food and beverage establishements with stellar reputations. They will "add" to the magic of 30A. They will provide good, reasonable food which this local will be glad to see closer to the house. For those visiting South Walton and Walton County, it will add excellent food and service to their vacation experience.

Both Chan's and Vintij have great wines, but I am interested in them for their food!

Fire, Chan's, and Vintij all in my 'hood - so much for me learning to cook better in 2010!

Vintij will need a liquor license to succeed at Seaside. Beer and wine alone won't cut it. The Lake Place will ultimately go under without a license also, IMO. I don't understand why Stinky's has full bar and The Lake Place doesn't. Fire's business obviously doubled once they got licensed. For upscale dining establishments it's almost a business necessity.

i've heard that chan's will be another wine bar where hot and cold is now. hot and cold may not have had atmosphere, per se, but they had a good product, very reasonable food and 20% discount for locals. maybe because i'm not a big drinker, i'm not looking for more wine establishments. i think if the landlords around here would be a bit more reasonable with their rent, more businesses could start here and thrive rather than keep closing their doors. i hate the revolving door. i'm almost afraid to buy gift cards from local restaurants for people for fear they won't be open by the time someone attempts to use them! i don't feel that way about any of dave rauschkolb's places. that is one smart businessman!
