Cafe Thirty-A crab cakes - The winner!

So in my recent contest of the battle of the crab cakes, Cafe Thirty-A won running away (sorry, Red Bar/331). Does anyone know how they cook them? They were so fluffy and perfectly formed, I got the impression they might actually be baked or broiled in a custard dish. Anyone got the goods?

I haven't been to Cafe 30-A in years. But, because of you I will go and try those crabcakes in October.

I am guessing they use those little metal rings to keep the crabmeat in place, then they pan fry them.

They are good, but I think you can only get them as an appetizer. And you only get one.

Didn't try Tango. Looks like I better schedule my trip back. Also, if you ask them, you can get the crabcakes as a meal (two of 'em). Add a mojito martini and you'll swear you've touched the face of God.

You are killing me Kirkus. Not only am I five weeks from SoWal, am four months from being able to drink any kind of yummy cocktail. OK ... just decide among yourselves which is the best (or better, rank them and I'll try the top three!) so I can get my crabcakes on starting July 22.
