Looking at Beacheart's photo from 1976 has lead me to post this. I would love to see more SoWal photos from all eras. Maybe someone can organize a "The Way We Were" photo exhibit somewhere?

bsmart: this would be wonderful. I love seeing old photos of the area..."back in the day".

You may want to contact Tony Mennillo. Arturo's Studio. He has thousands of vintage photos from the entire Emerald Coast.

He lives in Freeport.

have quite a few.......especially of the surfer's in the 70's , will try to locate them

I would love to see those - let me know if you'd like to scan some.

i believe they are currently in the pod orbiting the earth however, arrival should be in the next 2-3 months......................

definitely will scan some in the near future.

Might want to check with Mr. Huettel at Bayou Arts & Antiques - last I heard, he was the head of the Coastal Heritage Foundation, which used to be active but got absorbed by the Three Arts Alliance.

I personally have many old photos, but not so much of things, just people. And I have yet to organize them all, but it's on the list of things to do.

What a great idea. I would love to see an online gallery of these images. Maybe Kurt can create a page here on SoWal for folks to send in pictures.

I would love to see these photos as well. I love learning about the history of a place. Photos of the seacrest area would be great, though my guess is there wasn't much access or activity going on in this area.
