Can someone explain this Medicare reform to me

As I understand it Medicare reform will give all eligible participants a $15,000 per year voucher. That's $1,250 per month. Anybody know of an insurance company willing to take on a 65 year-old for that price and provide coverage like Medicare?

What happens when the $15,000 runs out?

It's basically Medicare Advantage for all, with stricter cost coverage plus regulated defined benefit plans offered through exchanges, similar to what ObamaCare created for the rest of us. The amount of the subsidy would be based on income level, with richer seniors footing more of their own bills and poorer seniors getting larger subsidies.

Okay, so the same special interests that effed up health care reform want to do the same thing to Medicare now.

*corrected misstatement

The PPACA made signifigant changes to Medicare as well. Unfortunately the changes weren't balanced. Medicare Advantage payouts were reduced, but FFS payments weren't. The result will be a big influx of people moving to the FFS system. What Ryan (from my understanding) is trying to do is move everyone into something akin to MedicareAdvantage and eliminate FFS.
