Can You Hear the Waves?

The waves in SoWal have a nice roar to them this morning. It is warmer and good south wind. If you go out this morning with a cup of coffee, can you hear them? I've often wondered how far inland one could hear the waves if dang sprinklers or other distracting noise isn't happening.

Indeed I can hear them. We are 4 blocks North of shore. I can hear them constantly and am trying to train myself to stop tuning them out. I think we all choose what to be cognizant of. I'm going to tune out some other "junk" and choose to be aware of the good stuff this year.

Usually the first couple of days when I'm at the beach, I hear a roaring sound that I'm not used to in GA and think I'm having tinnitus. Then I realize it's the waves.

I can hear the roar except when the sound is interrupted by the noise of motorcycles. ARGH!

I can hear them--about half way between 30 A and Highway 98...not sure how many blocks. I love sitting on my back porch with a cup of coffee and listening to the waves and the wind.

Since I moved here I have come to appreciate and enjoy the wind so much. I also notice that I have able to interpret the weather changes through the wind much more than I ever had before. It is wonderful.

One nice bonus to hearing them is waves on the way! Buoys starting to push 4'! It will be windy and probably blown out but hey, its the gulf!

It is nice hearing all the ways everyone enjoys the sounds of the waves, from relaxing and finding peace to riding them in like BobbyJ.

We're in Grayton, sort of behind the Sugar Shak on DeFuniak Street to give a landmark...and I can not only hear the waves perfectly, I can smell the ocean.
