Can You Hear the Waves?

New posts
I can't resist. I am so happy we moved down here full time and we are able to hear the waves anytime they are roaring. I can walk less than 100 yards and be on the beach as I was earlier this morning. Not much beach right now, though, although the amount of usable beach changes constantly. What a great place!

Little dirt road right at the base of the hill. I was renting a home on the East side. One of only two homes in there. Road is not named.
.

I bet there was some wildlife down the end of that road. The woods go deep back there.

We are on Western Lake and love to hear the sound of the ocean waves ~ that is until the summer when it is sexy time for the frogs. ;-)

We are a couple of blocks from the water and can hear them. I was surprised when we lived over in Topsail Village and could hear them. There's nothing like falling asleep to the sound of waves.

This thread is bad for my skin ... it is turning green with envy. Best wishes to all of you fortunate souls who can hear waves in lieu of traffic on I-75.

Yes, those pesky frogs can be quite loud in the summer. I missed them when I was in Alaska. It is so quiet there. No snakes. No frogs. The Gulf of Alaska does have waves, though. I just stepped out. We only have a mild wave roar going on tonight. Cold.

The cold seems to help. When it's really hot and muggy they are harder to hear.

I can hear the waves when I use my shellphone.

Then, quick pick up your shellphone and listen. This morning, from my back porch swing, couldn't hear too much wave action. The waves on the lake and gulf looked like wrinkled blue velvet. However, the waves on the horizon on the gulf resembled a short, smoky blue mountain range. Now, as evening approaches and sunset is about an hour away, the waves from my vantage point have just a nice, calm, slow swoosh.
