I have read many sources that cite Army Major Charles T. Gray as the first to build a house in what would become Grayton Beach. I have found his land patents for four parcels, but I cannot find anything else about him other than his wife's name was Elizabeth.

If you know anything about the mysterious Major Gray, I would love to hear from you!
