Chronic food poisioning?

New posts
I had a touch of this last week, but I was on very strong antibiotics and thought that was the problem...who knows. Glad you are going to the doctor.

Scooterbug, glad you are going to the doctor!

At least five years ago I got food poisoning at the beach and was so miserable and dehydrated that I went to the ER. They gave me injections to settle my stomach and take away the nausea (I was really stoned on that drug--hubby said I was hilarious). When I still felt bad two weeks after onset, my internist prescribed a double-dose of Prilosec. It took about four weeks for me to get back to normal.

So I hope you have something relatively harmless like I did.

Crap, I was hoping other people were sick too and it was just something going around or a bad batch of food.

Told Kitty I think my post made it sound worse than it is, but sounds like everyone agrees I need to see a doctor.

Mango, I don't really eat much gluten.

You see what that got you, right? I suggest you eat a ham samich from the Wal-Mart Deli, lots of inorganics and some fresh Gulf of Mexico seafood. While you're at Wal-Mart pick up some immodium and pepcid.

PS-There is quite a bit of GI crud around right now, so as long as you are keeping fluids down, just suffer through it.

Not food poisoning or anything super serious, just a nasty bug that has wreaked havoc on my innards.

As long as I stay hydrated and eat a bland diet (my "I'm going to get sick anyway so I'll eat what I like" approach wasn't helping), should be better soon.

Skunky - the gluten isn't a conscious dietary choice, just what I like to eat. And that list of Wal-mart food made me queasy. ;-)

If one eats really awful stuff in very small amounts, it has a homeopathic effect, and the patient recovers.

Scooty--hope you feel better soon! I feel for ya.

I was thinking about you and was concerned.:(
I hope you are better soon.
Chicken broth, carrot juice, and bananas are some of the things that could help get your electrolytes back in balance.
Post antibiotics diet would be live acidophilus cultures like those found in yogurt.
I thought you didn't sound as feisty as usual in your posts, now I know why.:D
