Concealed weapon permits in Walton County

New posts
The girl wasn't forcibly abducted in the view of onlookers, so it's beyond me how a gun could have helped in this case. I suppose if she had been packing you have a situation, tenuous at best, where she might have been able to save herself. I do think that anyone with the maturity, wisdom and presence of mind to properly handle a gun in that situation wouldn't have wandered off with the man in the first place. In this county, the idea of "mature" (and I use the word loosely) adults packing heat doesn't exactly thrill me, so you can imagine how I feel about minors.

"The only way to stop a bad heat-packing spring breaker is a good heat-packing spring breaker." I don't think that's gonna fit on a bumper sticker...

i believe I'm going to market burial casket gun racks for nra members. members being the operative word here.

Such a disorganized discussion. It's all a bunch of malarkey if we don't break it down and stop with the "noise."

Statistics and Spin

2/3 of declared murders in the US are attributed to guns. Do the readers and contributors to this forum believe the 8,000-10,000 non-accidental gun deaths are perpetrated by permit carrying gun owners/members of the NRA/collectors/sporting individuals/people who bought guns because of safety concerns?

Where do the readers and contributors to this forum believe gun related deaths are occurring in the United States? By whose hand do the readers and contributors believe the deaths are occuring?

There are approximately 100,000,000 guns owned by civilians in the United States. There are approximately 350,000,000 people in this country.

The yearly non-accidental gun death toll is around 10,000; or one non-accidental gun death per 10,000 guns. The yearly death toll from gun murders in the US is 0.003%. Twice as many people die, yearly, because they slipped and fell.

Etc...

No one addressed the video I posted a while ago. Steven Levitt and John Donahue theorize that an increase in abortions among the lower-income population over a period of time was directly responsible for a decrease in violent crime 18 years later. What do you make of that?

Seeing as we are having a discussion about the constitutionally protected right to bear arms, where in the Constitution is it stated that citizens have the right to reproduce under irresponsible circumstances?

Eugenics... nazism... racism... etc. That's why we don't go down that road. But, statistically speaking (based on Levitt and Donahue's work), if you are interested in saving innocent lives in general... (Talk amongst yourselves.)

Why not start the conversation by being the first to answer your own questionnaire including your suggestion of killing off minorities, WTF ????????
One question missing is, how many gun owners are members of a well regulated militia?

It's pretty obvious that the level of self-regulation and self-education of some of the posters on this thread is virtually non-existent. You've heard of the gang that couldn't shoot straight? This is the gang that couldn't think straight.

Hey whatever happened to the discussion about wolverines? That tangent really seemed to bite the dust, didn't it??

So now we've changed to talking about tourists from Michigan that like their Wolverines with the striped helmets ? I thought this was ACC/SEC country?

I'm still trying to figure out how a gun would have kept Anthony Wiener from sending out pictures of his manhood, and how that's going to keep the Red Chinese from using forced sterilization practices on North Koreans in order to keep spring breakers from being murdered in the Pacific Northwest where heavily armed vigilantes exercising their second amendment rights band together to form a counter insurgency against the Russians who are secretly supported by the US government under direction of a manifesto left behind by the late Colonel Sanders. I'm going to have to call wolverine on that one.

Here we go again. Just like I said waaaay back in post 15 on this thread. Can't we all get along?

Gun crime has plunged in the United States since its peak in the middle of the 1990s, including gun killings, assaults, robberies and other crimes, two new studies of government data show.

Yet few Americans are aware of the dramatic drop, and more than half believe gun crime has risen, according to a newly released survey by the Pew Research Center.
