Conch Out in Progress

New posts
Donna...went by Conch Out this morning! You had some guests!!! She seems to like her new shade....no trim color yet.

P.S. She is waiting for you!!!

I also saw Grayton Sunset and I must say I LOVE that pink!!!! ;-)

Thanks for the update on Conch Out progress, SJ. The painters have the boom in the back of the house now. They will stain the decks and the pool fencing last. Oh, what some new paint can do for all of us!

You're breaking my heart with these gorgeous beach shots. I am still in withdrawal from the last visit, even though spring is lovely here. When I left the Valley, it had been raining for 43 days and everything was so soggy. Returned to grapes and olives budding, native grasses sending up these golden plumes, herbs flowering, and the roses all blooming...and the Oldfords sneezing their heads off! Worth it, though.

We are already planning for October. Will be eager to hear what your chef friend thinks about a SoWal chef's gig. We are talking with Jeffrey on Monday. Maybe they could cook together one night? That would be fun. I am having fun with various menus and wine choices. Look for another post soon.

Ask Jessifunn about me booking the wrong dates last week! Duhhhhhhhhhhh:roll:

Believe me Cork...you would have seen me if I were still there!!! One of the coolest things happened when Mr. K and I had finished our last lunch at D & K's, I saw Donna pull up to Conch Out and walked over to chat!!!! Those were the days...I can't believe I just left a week ago!!!

Sueshore, that is the true Grayton Beach. Story: Early on New Year's Eve, we walked down on the beach to take our Christmas tree to one of the bonfires. A guy I had chatted with here and there on the beach all week (from Atlanta) was there, so I told him I'd like to meet his wife. He was holding the trees up, so pointed at a woman on the opposite side of the bonfire. Said to go over and introduce myself, that her name was AA. I looked over and told him, "I don't need to introduce myself, because I'm related to AA." He would NOT believe me, until I told him that we grew up together in DeFuniak and her mother, J. taught me piano for more than 10 years. He was floored, but that is what our beaches have always been all about...a small community of people who love them. I had not seen AA in over 35 years. But neither of us was surprised.

Get used to it, girl, because everybody knows YOU! :clap_1:
