Condition of Seacrest Beach

Beach Comber
I keep hearing about beach conditions in the panhandle, what exactly are the conditions on Seacrest Beach, i'm headed there in July (just before relocating from new jersey to Nashville Tenn,YAY) and am interested since i'm coming down with my 4 kids and you know how they can be.

The beaches in Seacrest are fine. There was some dune erosion. In the winter, wind strips the top layer of loose sand from the beaches. You can walk on almost all of the beach with shoes with no problem. The loose sand comes back in the spring. Much of what people are saying about the conditions of our beaches has more to do with the season than with Ivan.

I wish i could but i couldn't talk my employer into moving to Florida (Believe me we tried). However, the fact that Nashville is much closer to Florida than New Jersey made it easy for me to accept the relocation. I'm really looking forward to my first trip to South Walton in July. Hopefully living in Tennessee I'll be able to visit several times a year instead of just one.

Nashville is a great city to live in. We are about 2 hours southeast.

And, yes, it makes it MUCH easier to go to the beach....we make it down about 4 times a year. We're so used to the drive now we can make it in about 6 hours, but RiverOtter drives pretty fast, & the Little Otters don't get to stop for the bathroom much

Welcome to Tennessee :D

Thx, GraytonBound. We will be living in Hendersonville which is right outside Nashville. I will be working in Nashville. We feel that the quality of life for our children will be much better in tennessee and it seems that everyone there is very friendly. We have been in New Jersey all our lives and this will all be new to us, however we are really looking forward to the move. We will be there 4/8 thru 4/12 to start our house search and hope to be fully relocated by september.

September is perfect....fall is the best time to live in Tennessee in my opinion.

We have considered moving ourselves, after being in Chatt. our entire lives. It's a scary, and also exciting, thought.

Good luck
