welll...where to start?? the thing I just did Sat. night was...I fixed all the food for his mother's 86th birthday party...they invited about 70 relatives to come to his house...I cooked all the food, decorated the table with linnens, flowers and candles...then beat feet...crappy thing is...he said at the last minute...oh by the way...you are invited to come too...Like I was going to go to the party at MY OLD HOUSE...with his girlfriend acting as hostess at a party for people that have been my family for 30 years!!!!!destindreamin said:

I probably would have taken his mom on a cruise or a vacation or a weekend getaway or dinner or whatever I could afford. If they wanted to entertain a bunch of people at their home, they can do the work! Even though we're close, he has a new life now and I wouldn't like it if I was Jo (his girlfriend) and the ex was always there at family affairs. I'm sure it's tough enough to be the new girl especially when they liked the ex-wife. She's a very nice person and I hope she makes him happy. I did drive up to NC with him for his dad's funeral cause she couldn't go but normally I bow out of his family affairs. I'm sure its a difficult situation but eventually things will work out. I was never the real domestic type . I have hard enough time taking care of myself, let alone everybody else

Oops, have to add that every situation is different and she wouldn't be staying in my house unless I invited her but I owned the property before we were ever married so no issues there about who got what. You have a great sense of humor and a strong spirit. I have a feeling that you're gonna be just fine.

I was never the real domestic type . I have hard enough time taking care of myself, let alone everybody else
well..the first thing is...we are not divorced yet...so I still think him doing these things with her is TACKY!!!
second thing is...GIRL I feel that way too...I never felt the domestic type!!!I never fully understood this until I moved out...bought my own home and did everything for myself...I LOVE IT and I feel so free and natural and comfortable!!!

Good for you! :clap_1: and you are absolutely right, it's more than tacky, it just plain wrong. That's what I mean about each situation being different. If my ex had done that, he could kiss my a$$. We always treated each other with respect and that isn't respectful of you.
I don't know that I love being alone but I'm comfortable with it and have no need to jump into anything just for the sake of company. I kinda just ride the ups and downs - cork on the ocean
