Same here in Seagrove, all summer long. I know the SO has plenty to do, but I wish the law was enforced, except for July 4th and New Year's Eve.

why so many people coming to Grayton feel obligated to stop in Alabama to buy fireworks to shoot at the beach? At this moment the bombs are a-bursting out on Defuniak Street. Why? I guess the show will be over soon because the pyrotechnicians will no doubt be going to sleep early in order to be up with the roosters tomorrow picking up their fireworks trash:roll:

Because it's fun to blow stuff up and shoot things into the air!

Why do people do any of the stupid/obnoxious/illegal things they do on vacation?

Skunky, I was wondering the same thing last night, as they were shooting them off around Eastern Lake. Maybe they are lighting a fuse under the Easter Bunny's butt to get him off to an early start. My other thought was that they may have found some leftover fireworks in their rental house. Most likely, they did buy them in AL to impress a girl, or to look more cool to other guys. Did you ever see that youtube video of the kid attempting to launch a screaming bottle rocket from his butt, to up his cool factor amongst his friends? Ouch. Those sparks hitting his baby-soft skin, clinched him tightly, and the bottle rocket never lauched.

It used to be as simple as picking up a fireworks sampler pack at Publix.

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I'm usually kinda glad the vacationers feel festive enough to blow off a coupla rockets, even if it isn't the 4th. I do wish some of them would do a better job of picking up the debris, though.

No, it wasn't "jackass." It was a bunch of 14 year old kids. I'm sure you can google bottle rocket butt launch and find it.

I'm all for festive people, but one of the great things about our area is being out in nature, seeing stars, hearing the waves, etc. Hearing fireworks is something I would expect in Panama City Beach or maybe Destin, but not South Walton.

Well, there are so many fireworks going off in Seagrove that Pepper is scared to go outside and take care of business.:bang:

It's pop-pop-pop here, too.

Well at least it is fireworks, pop-pop-pop here means gunshots.

However we do get our share of fireworks even on nonholidays and Cinco de Mayo is coming up soon and it will be all night. Both fireworks and gunshots in the air. :yikes:

Watch those bottle rockets, I had a friend lose their million dollar home, total loss, to one bottle rocket on NYE. :(
