AP Exclusive: Admin shelves CDC guide to reopening country

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) — A set of detailed documents created by the nation’s top disease investigators meant to give step-by-step advice to local leaders deciding when and how to reopen public places such as mass transit, day care centers and restaurants during the still-raging pandemic has been shelved by the Trump administration.

It was supposed to be published last Friday, but agency scientists were told the guidance “would never see the light of day,” according to a CDC official. The official was not authorized to talk to reporters and spoke to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity.

I just heard on NPR that a brand new study has come out that states that 41 states do not have nearly enough testing to meet the CDC criteria for “reopening”. I’m willing to bet Florida is one of them.

I think it's going to get fairly easy to get tested here in Walton County. Someone please confirm or deny that.

Teresa has posted a schedule of where you can go to get drive-up tests around here. I think they begin in about a week. (The virus has been around for about 4 months. You do the math.)
