COVID19: Opinion and Discussion

Publix should be ashamed of itself. It's not "where shopping is a pleasure" it's "where you shop to get Covid 19". How about a little social distancing, Publix people?
And let's not even go down the price gouging road that continues to go on...

I'm not a Walmart fan but I will go there now instead of Publix.
I go to Walmart often enough. Even before this new mandate I've found that people in there follow guidelines much better than those in Publix. Not to denigrate the class level of Walmart shoppers (after all I am one), but it could be that self-centered reckless behavior is more common among people who can better afford to pay the higher prices you see at Publix. It seems that a lot of members of the privileged class just don't care.

We mostly shop in person for quick items at Winn Dixie out of convenience since it’s the one closest to our house, but also online shop Walmart and take advantage of the free pickup service they offer. We also order ten meals a week (five each) from EveryPlate which is only $58.50 per week delivered to the door.

Publix has been wonderful with some of their safety measures. But the summer crowds are just not good. They are always expensive at the beach. I like to think their employees are paid better than other companies but not sure if that is true.

We’re collectively too stupid to follow arrows on the floor, even when reminded...

Publix does fine...there is a subset of Publix shoppers who are too self-important to wear a mask for ten minutes in the store, whether for their own good or that of others. It isn’t money or entitlement, it is simple lack of common-sense and decency. Don’t cast too wide a net when pointing fingers. We’re not all stupid. But, yeah, many could try harder.

Let them eat cake!
