My niece and her husband are teachers in TN who were forced back to work and they both just tested positive for Covid. Their son is also sick. She said the students have temperatures taken everyday and never show a fever yet there are more infections each week. Turns out the electronic thermometers supplied are not accurate. She is republican and says they should never have reopened.

Some good news. I was in Destin Fresh Market yesterday and a store employee told a maskhole to put his mask on. He had it in his pocket so that tells you he knew the store policy but purposely chose to disregard it.

Yeah but they weren't forced at gunpoint. I think that's what L.C. was getting at. In a capitalist free-market society, the teachers should be advertising their skills to other markets.

Forced was my wording not hers so that is on me. She is very ill at the moment so I won’t bother her right now. Being both she and her husband rely on their incomes as teachers in a rural area I’m not sure either had the option to say “I’m not working so fuk you pay me anyway.” Remote learning would have been the right choice for the school board. Not a lot of other options in small town America. It’s easy for another to say “just change careers.”
