Does this surprise you ?

Reserve Accounts

Bed Tax Claim from BP (Unrestricted). $ 2,419,257
1/2 Cent Emerging Markets (Restricted) $ 1,175,096
Beach Nourishment (Restricted) $ 8,742,960
Administrative (Unrestricted) $ 14,517,507

How would you spend the unrestricted reserves ?

The TDC currently has more than 1 years budgeted expenditures in reserve !

Bob, can you post the 2013 budget? Even though there are unrestricted funds, are some of those ear marked in unrestricted areas? I am not familiar with the thought process of the TDC and I am reaching for a reasonable explanation. Maybe the projected budget will help.

Thanks to Bob Hudson and Commissioner Meadows for opening Pandora's box, so we may get a glimpse of what is inside. Hopefully there is an explanation worthy of the TDC actions.

I'd love it to be applied toward that separate pedestrian bridge from the golf cart thread and toward paying down that 331 bridge real quick. People come here to shop. Raise taxes 1/2 cent... and it takes away marginal benefit of spending money here. Need the 331 bridge. Need the tax to go away quicker.

I'm curious. Does Nokuse Plantation/E.O. Wilson Center receive any funds from the TDC? After all, M.C. Davis and his dozen or more companies and entities are major contributors of Walton County's elected officials.
