Walked by today main activity @ 7:30AM front end loader scraping sand off road and dumping
Into the Big Hole. Appears to have added several
Loads of dirt/sand dumped into the hole in the last couple of days. Equipment on site Loader,
Packer, large cherry-picker. Activity scale 4
 
Go to "Scenic 30A thread on "All About SoWal" and read the post regarding construction of a Bailey bridge.
 
If they are filling in the hole then a bailey bridge doesn't sound like the option they are going with. Hope the protesters will be happy with the patch job they get.
 
I would think that no matter what comes next, they are going to start by filling in the hole.
 
30A Big hole report #2

8:00AM 9/5/13 two dozers added . Yesterday late Walton Sheriff truck lights flashing and Gas
Truck where present. This morning hole is 80%
FILLED. Packer is set to continue packing the
New fresh dumped dirt. They are thinking something but I have no idea what? Looks like a patch.

Well, Loco, I guess then the County Commissioner who told me there was a Bailey bridge to be constructed either didn't know what she/he was talking about, had been totally misinformed or was lying, none of which I find plausible. Did someone change their minds? Possibly but the final result is still to be determined. I've cited my source, Loco, what's yours?
