I just saw that! They announced it on GMA and all seemed a little stuned. They said that even though she had lung cancer, they had been told it was a less aggresive type than Peter Jennings had. So sad.

What a load their son has had to bear, and now this. I guess one bright spot is the fact that both of his parents were so loved and admired that he will always have a good support system.

Oh crap.

Lung cancer is awful. My husband's brother died of it last month. He was 39. When they found it last year it was already very advanced. I was praying, praying, praying that with Dana Reeve they found it early and perhaps she was a surgical candidate. But when there was no word for months and months I thought that wasn't a good sign.

It is a terrible, terrible disease, and there is no cure if it has spread. Nada. Nothing. And if they find it before it is too late, it is an accident. The symptoms do not show up until someone is too far gone.

I am sick about this. Their poor child.

What?! I was watching the Today show; they didn't say a word, did they? Unless I missed it somewhere. Oh, that makes me so sad. I thought she was fighting it and winning.

They said on GMA that they had just gotten word of her death during this morning's broadcast.

I feel so bad for their son. At least he had such a wonderful example of what love is all about and that will carry him through. Life is definitely not fair!!!
