Deadliest Catch

New posts
I watched the first season of this show and was hooked. I used to think that I'd like to move down to FL and work on a fishing boat but changed my mind after watching that show. Not that it would be as rough in the Gulf, but still...

My kids and I love this show!! new season starts on Tuesday :clap_1:

Crabbing in the Bering Sea looks like a mighty miserable way to earn a buck!
It could be a large buck. They get a percentage of the take. They can make their years pay for a few weeks of brutal work!

Yes, they make a ton of money in a short amount of time, but it is life-threatening work. A great book on the subject is The Perfect Storm by Sebastian Junger. (Forget the movie - it was ridiculous). But the book described the brutal life of commercial fishermen. You do understand why seafood costs so much.

Johnrudy, I know you'll think I'm joking when I say this, but I miss Phil Spector. The day I was scrolling the page and he jumped out, I laughed and laughed and laughed--you made my day!
