Health insurance with a month's take-home pay for a deductible.
Better make that 5% tax-deferred or tax-deductible...and if that was the only change to be made, I'd shift something around to be able to fund it.
However, worse things are happening. The proposed changes to Special Risk FRS are my most immediate concern. It is apparent that our state government has no clue - or does not care, and I'm betting on both - about the issues law enforcement officers and their families endure. There is a reason for being able to retire at 25 years - and quite frankly, if they pass, Fuzzy and I are in a hell of a pickle.
My father was a constable, my husband's been in law enforcement for 28 years and counting, and I pray my son does not follow that path, at least locally. It ain't worth it.
