Do kids hate people who give out something other than candy?

If I have leftover candy I pack it all up and send it into GTTBD's office the next day. They'll eat anything! If he gets in by 7am the candy is usually gone by 7:15! :funn:

I work at that office. Every mom here brings in the kids candy so it's not in their house. I've noticed they are all thin too...hummm, their plan is working.

I work with a bunch of skinny wenches who bring in their kids' leftover birthday cakes.

Yup, we get that on an average. It started out smaller, but I live in a big circle, and parents bring their kids here from other neighborhoods because my whole neighborhood really gets into decorating the houses and it caught on, spooky music, the works. Its the second biggest holiday in the neighborhood to Xmas. They come in mini-vans loaded with kids and they start around 3:30 and it ends at around 8:30- 9 pm. It's also safe. The kids come in groups with flashlights. Parents pull the little ones in wagons since we all have long driveways. Hubby and I even get dressed up. ;-)

This sounds like so much funn!!!

This is what I do too, otherwise I'd eat it all BEFORE Halloween. I buy stuff like Smartees (sorry, Allifunn ) and sour stuff. No chocolate, and especially, no chocolate with nuts wub: ).

No offense taken....;-) I am so sweet that I need a little sour to balance myself out.......

Amylouky....I think a little treat from trading co and a small candy would be nice.

Birthday cake! After all the kiddie birthday parties I've given and gone to in my mothering career, that's one food I have NO problem passing up. Think of that nasty kiddie spit all over the frosting from the kid trying to blow the candles out...blech blech blech (I would never even eat my own kids' birthday cake, that's how bad I think it is)

Having said that, virgin unblown birthday cake is one of my favorite guilty pleasures.

Please do give out candy! It's just not Halloween if you don't get candy. I'd be mad (even now at my age) if I was trick-or-treating and someone gave me a pencil or a sticker. ;-)
